Clinics can be held at Circle E Equestrian, Walsh Stables or perhaps YOUR Stables.

1.  101- Groundwork
  safety for riding
-
This is my first base foundation clinic - the beginning.  Clinic designed for anyone new to groundwork/or horses-someone with a young or problem horse OR someone who knows groundwork but has a horse that is challenging them. All my ground work applies to use inside the saddle and will be explained and shown. Extend respect before you need it in the saddle. Focus is on groundwork getting useful. NEW Games are played and enjoyed together.  At times Ellie may handle and demonstrate with your horse if you wish. Focus is on safety and FUN and building confidence for both horse and human!!!!
* I offer use of one of my own horses if you want to just learn and not be over challenged by your horse-contact me for details.

2.  102 - Connecting the reins down to the feet- The next progressive clinic is 102.  Ground work is more advanced and our goal is to practice effectiveness in the saddle.  Enhance safety & fun. NEW Games are played and enjoyed together. Saddle time is intended after ground work is practiced and your comfortable. The second day will be adding what we learned and practicing into games, the goal is so horse can relax and also start having fun. We work on details of refinement with riding.  This is a great place to get ready for shows/trailriding and practice off premises. Many times issues don't completely come out till your off premise. Getting to their mind, down to the feet  - develops your relationship and extends control.  Developing your feel and finesse.  The little things really matter.  If you find you are not comfortable riding you may practice your groundwork exercises with help provided to regain control while others go on.

3. 103 Developing Feel & Finesse -  This clinic is based on putting it together with feel and finesse to be effective as a leader.  Focused on details of refinement with expanded riding.  Must be able to walk-trot and preferable canter.   Getting to their mind, down to the feet - develops your relationship and extents control for your safety.  Mutual respect - built on foundation, advancing to get the horse soft in the ribcage & between your reins.

4. Despooking and Trail preparation - The title says it all.  This clinic will be fun and challenging.  Prior clinic is a prerequisite - for effectiveness on what we will be doing.

Clinics are designed to create a solid foundation through mutual trust and respect as their leader. Asking the horse to relax and THINK - through issues,  gains trust and confidence for both human and horse.

GOALS -   Two days with your horse is the key element to best reach goals.  Allowing your horse to "soak" overnight & using the consecutive second day of progressive reinforcement helps put "things together" for both of you.  Boundaries set on ground/in saddle. Demonstrations of balancing firmness & fairness with when & how.

SIZE - Small !!  To allow personalized specific attention with each participant, limit 6 - another key element I offer.
FORMAT-  Individual time with each person to address specific needs.  Depending on class needs/desires will continue individual sessions and/or as a group.  Each clinic is progressive & designed to enter at stages based on you/your horse's needs.
HANDS ON - I will have one of my Moriesian horses available to demonstrate lightness & communication.   Participants in clinic will have "hands on" opportunity from my horse - to explain what words can't. Come join  THE FUN
TIME-
9 am to 4 pm Saturday & 8 am to 3 pm Sunday  (Time could extend - or if class not full, time will be adjusted.)

ABOUT ME -  I have been involved in "natural" training since 1996 and balance that with a strong dressage background.  I have had the absolute privilege to ride and learn from Masters: Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman, founding fathers of "natural training".    I've also had the opportunity to ride with; learning from following renowned trainers:  Richard Thompson- Dave Seay- Pat Parelli -Mike Beck- Leslie Desmond- Terry Church - Frank Grelo - Jeff Griffith - Joe Woulters - Lynn Palm.

For me, natural horsemanship/training is about fairness & philosophy of interacting with horses that goes far beyond training - a lifestyle. "There is nothing natural about natural training for the human,                        but it’s everything to the horse."

Developing feel -universal to all horses receives quick & long lasting results applies to ALL riding disciplines. We think so differently - the journey learning/using their body language & herd dynamics is fascinating & fulfilling.

Outline:   Goal is to understand & apply; then refine for effectiveness by removing braces. The little things matter!  Move on to condense & use less aids in groundwork & riding.  Emphasis will be developing the quality of communication through feel & fineness. Proper presentation (Attitude & Presence) gives you desired understanding & respect.  The foundation of leadership we establish on the ground will be used to transfer to the same understanding in the saddle; to connect the reins to the feet.  Safety - keep the horse between your reins and soft in the ribcage.  Advancement- *True straightness is a privilege earned - *Forward is the key to straightness and straightness is achieved by bending.   Eliminate ground work - How to check into your horse's mind in seconds before mounting with my precise advanced check. *Using outside rein whether you're riding english or western tack.  *The value of  "pretty circles" Falling in-falling out defined & corrections. *Use foot-fall or "cadence" to advance.

Tom Dorrance's quote’s

"Now let the horse soak on it for a while!"

"You feel and listen to the horse.  The experience of the results of his response helps you understand for the next time."

You are trying to present something and then let him figure out how

to get there."
