MY MORIESIANS - Pretty is AND... Pretty DOES !

The proposal -

We met the modern way, an online dating service with photo and details of whom we were looking for. Of course, my photo was of me swimming a horse in the pond. Ron saw the picture and was intrigued. Who would of thought, I would find the love of my life- the man I have been waiting for all my life. After 4 years Ron proposed at the same place we first camped with the horses. The news was first shared on the way home by dancing in the highway with Kate Damp, my soon to be bridesmaid. The wedding plans started with Ron suggesting to go out west and elope. On a very cold fall night camping with the horses we went to town to get warm and to our surprise, Star Fire was playing. We heard this country western band camping once before and remembered how good they were. This time when they played the song, “Your Man” the song just chocked up Ellie. Ron later asked the band if they played for weddings and Ellie knew then, they were going to have a real wedding as this started all the plans.

Rest of the story-

Sheriff bill confirmed at the wedding dinner speech- our first date was fixing fence. Ron wanted to meet earlier but I had to keep the farm running and I did not have much time for dating. We agreed to meet but I told him what I was doing that day; he was welcome to join me. I remember that day clearly, my dog Justin and I were working up on the hill, I watched as Ron walk up the hill toward us for our first meeting and wondered what this meeting was going to bring. We spent the day working on fence and getting to know each other in a relaxed manner. I was pretty excited to meet a guy who took such an interest in me and my lifestyle with horses. Little did I know till years later, Bill had actually taken him aside the first time they met and told him to run. Run- it’s hard work raising horses and if you don’t want the hard work, then you better hop in your truck and go. Ron told me later, “heck I’ve been in the Marine Corps and on Uncle’s farms – so I kinda knew what I was getting into. He said he admired a gal working so hard for a future and figured this pretty little gal needed some help. The more we worked together and combined interests the more we fell in love”. Ron rarely rode horses till he met Ellie and he has now turned into quite an admired rider and cowboy. Sheriff Bill’s dinner speech, he said Ron had stood the test of time – how true. Ron stood the test of time-now they liked him and wanted him to stay. They even devised and gave us as a gift before our first trip out west with the horses, a “trail riding with Ellie emergency pack”- to help keep him safe.

Myself, I have finally found my true soul mate and my love of my life.

Ron’s dinner speech -

I met Ellie over 4 yrs ago, along with my Darlin’ wife came a hole lot of new friends and family, I’d like to Thank everyone for being here today and all the help put forth to celebrate this great Day.

But before I came along, Little Miss Ellie Here spent a good part of her life out gallivanting around with some of the greatest horse trainers in the world Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt, the Dorrance Brothers, Heck she even met and shook hands with Cesar Millan, the TV dog trainer. Watch the slide show, she’s even been out west robbing trains with her friends, the giddy up gang.

You know I think I’m going to need some help settling Miss Ellie down.

After all you are now my little Mrs. Ellie

So Best Man Bill, I pronounce you, with this badge, Deputy Sheriff; of my getting hitched to this Little Miss Ellie. That the next time she goes out gallivanting around the world on her ponies, she don’t forget - she’s now got this old man to drag along.

So how bout a toast to sheriff Bill and all my new found friends

Note from 4 yr old Hayley –
When are Uncle Ron and Princess Ellie going to have this party again???????
